Scheduling

Season #1 Episode #5

I will be the first to admit that when I first started working from home that meant it permeated all aspects of my life.  I didn’t have a designated space set up right away, it was way too easy to constantly have the laptop open anywhere I was sitting and I was “multitasking” at all hours.  Did that mean that I got more accomplished?  Heck, no!  Did I make more money?  Nope.  Was I organized?  I thought I was.  News flash: I was a train wreck.

It took a while to establish a schedule that separated work from family time, with set boundaries, systems and procedures in place, and the feeling of true accomplishment on a regular basis.

A major perk to working for yourself is setting a schedule that you love but in doing so there is absolutely no way to please everyone without reaching a state of burnout.  Take a look at what you are doing and see if you need to make any adjustments so that you can reclaim a separation of “work” and “home”.
